November 2007 - We regret to announce that prices for Harvard Apparatus glass capillaries were increased substantially in the middle of 2007 by the manufacturer. We have delayed passing on this increase as long as possible, using existing stock, but the increase is now inevitable.

New prices for glass will be as follows. However, as long as we have some older stock we will automatically supply as much of your order as possible at the old price.

 
Manufacturer
  • Harvard Apparatus Ltd in the UK (formerly Clark Electromedical Instruments). Both the Harvard catalog numbers and original Clark numbers are shown for convenience.
Glass Types

  • Borosilicate is the most popular choice for standard micropipettes; it is available with an internal filament for easy filling.

  • Aluminosilicate glass has a higher resistivity, higher mechanical strength, and a tendency to thin out during pulling allowing very fine tips to be produced.

  • Patch clamp glass is 8520, similar to Corning #7052, and is especially suitable for forming giga-seals.

  • Premium Glass packs (flame polished & cleaned; some extra patch clamp glasses) are shown on the next page.
Ordering

  • All prices are in AU$ for delivery in Australia and New Zealand, current at January 2007. If you are outside Australia or New Zealand, please refer to Harvard's web site for further information.

  • Delivery is AU$20 (AU$50 for NZ) for small orders. GST is additional (except NZ).

  • Most borosilicate sizes are available from our stock in Sydney.

  • The most popular sizes are shown in bold.
