Features for Fluorescence Microscopy
SimplePCI has many features specifically designed to make fluorescence work easy. These include
- Up to 3 wavelengths are automatically kept together as the components of an image, and support
is included for capture of up to 5 wavelengths.
- Hardware control for multiple wavelength capture is simple, flexible and intuitive.
- For dynamic studies, SimplePCI achieves the highest frame rate (with live on-screen display)
of any package we have seen, while providing real-time graphical analysis.
- Image sequences are automatically saved in a data file, and can be analysed for changing fluorescence
intensities or ratios with a few clicks (see the DIA module).
The SimplePCI Automated Image Capture module (AIC) enhances SimplePCI to provide
cost-effective image capture from a wide array of cameras.
|
AIC-Standard provides:

SimplePCI Dynamic Intensity Analysis (DIA) provides the ultimate in high speed processing.
Adding DIA to SimplePCI makes it possible to measure the intensity of cells over time, and then to view the
results on a time graph.
With DIA, full measuring capability is available for both on-line and off-line analysis.
Interactive user control throughout an experiment makes DIA the ideal software for live cell application solutions.
- Threshold or manually define regions of interest for
- intensity measurement
- Acquire, process and analyze data on-line throughout the
- experiment
- Plot individual, multiple or average measurements over time
- Customize measurements with built-in equation editor
- Apply background correction live or mathematically
- Process ratio image data for Ca++, pH ratio...
- Stream images directly to memory or disk
- Control capture of images with adjustable time delays
- Add event markers by key press or electronically
- Interact between measurement graphs and image sequences

 |
Motion Tracking and Analysis (MTA) expands SimplePCI to enable objects to be tracked across
multiple time separated fields.
Fields are first collected and analyzed for size (Area), position (Center of Gravity) and time (Field Time).
The MTA module then rapidly tracks objects and reports distance moved with straight and curve line velocity.
- Fast Object Tracking
- Track Multiple Objects
- Adjustable Parameters
- Object Velocity
- Replay Objects with Track
- View Individual Object Trajectory
- Extensive Statistics
- Straight and Curve Line Velocity
- Save Tracked Objects as AVI
- Export Data to Spreadsheet

 |
The SimplePCI Deconvolution module (DNN) supplements SimplePCI to remove out-of-focus haze from optical image sections. The module supports nearest neighbor no neighbor and 2D blind deconvolution, for rapid deconvolution of images and image sequences.
- Based on established algorithms from AutoQuant Imaging, Inc (now Media Cybernetics)
- Remove blur from images using fast algorithms
- Apply to individual images or image sequences automatically
- Deblur multi-wavelength images
- Easy access to deblur settings
- Automatic point spread generation
- Apply to full image or image region for fast parameter tuning
- Integrated for image capture and deconvolution
