Axon Multiclamp 700B Microelectrode Amplifier

The Multiclamp 700B Microelectrode Amplifier combines leading edge electronics design and a wealth of features and functions with an intuitive user interface that simplifies the creation of complex protocols. The applications for this amplifier comprise a wide variety of intracellular or extracellular recordings in electrophysiology, including:

  • Patch clamp (whole-cell, macro-patch, or excised patch)
  • High-speed current clamp (sharp-electrode or field potentials)
  • Voltammetry/amperometry
  • Ion-selective measurements
  • Bilayer recordings

Multiclamp Commander
 

Multiclamp Commander

Instead of front panel knobs and switches, the MultiClamp 700B Amplifier is controlled by Multiclamp 700B Commander software, a program that runs on a host computer (Windows or Macintosh) and communicates with the amplifier via a USB interface. The intuitive user interface of MultiClamp Commander gives the operator full control of all amplifier functions, while the Quick Select feature enables easy access to saved configurations that apply to particular recording configurations.

Optional Softpanel

The optional SoftPanel was designed for those who prefer the more conventional feel to amplifier control of knobs and buttons. By way of a USB connection, the SoftPanel physically replicates all essential amplifier functions by acting as a hardware extension of the Multiclamp 700B Commander Software. SoftPanel knobs replicate continuous mouse controls ("gliders"), while buttons replicate single-click mouse controls.


Axoclamp 900A Microelectrode Amplifier

The Axoclamp 900A Microelectrode Amplifier represents the latest generation of our Axoclamp amplifier family. This model features many enhancements that improve its recording capability, make the amplifier easier to use, and help your experiments last longer.

The Axoclamp 900A Microelectrode Amplifier provides the following modes of operation:

  • I-Clamp: Current clamp using two independent bridge amplifiers for voltage measurements
  • DCC: Discontinuous current clamp for accurate voltage measurements, even when the electrode resistance changes
  • TEVC: High-compliance two-electrode voltage clamp for Xenopus oocytes and mammalian cells
  • dSEVC: Discontinuous single-electrode voltage clamp for small cells with large currents
  • HVIC: High-voltage current clamp for extracellular applications such as iontophoresis

Like the Multiclamp 700B above, the Axoclamp 900A is computer controlled. The optional Softpanel is available for those who prefer a more conventional feel.

Axopatch 200B Microelectrode Amplifier

Widely accepted as the gold-standard for ultra low-noise patch clamp recordings, the Axopatch 200B Capacitor Feedback Patch Clamp Amplifier is the benchmark for single-channel recordings and other applications that require an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. By introducing active cooling of components in the headstage to well below 0°C, the open-circuit noise in patch mode has been reduced to unprecedented levels, as low as <15 fA (RMS) at 0.1 - 1 kHz. This translates into significantly lower noise during patch clamp recordings. A headstage that can be switched to resistive mode ensures superb performance in whole-cell recordings, too. This makes the Axopatch 200B System the amplifier of choice for a scientist who performs basic research in the ion channel field and is the reason why researchers purchased thousands of these amplifiers from Molecular Devices over the past decade.
