Drug Screening and Drug Discovery

More and more groups in Australia and New Zealand are enquiring about screening systems - systems to investigate functional and cell morphological effects of a large number of compounds, with a high throughput.

We supply and support several different screening systems, which you will find on the following pages.

Roboocyte	The Roboocyte, from Multichannel Systems, is an automated system for injecting cDNA/mRNA into Xenopus oocytes, subsequent TEVC recording, and perfusion paradigms - providing 24 hr operation without supervision.
HiClamp	The HiClamp, from Multichannel Systems, is built around an entirely new concept: instead of applying solutions to the oocytes, the HiClamp carries the cells from one compound to the other. Hence a single compound reservoir of 250 µl can be used repeatedly for recordings even from different oocytes.
QT-Screen	QT-Screen, from Multichannel Systems, is the worlds first fully automated system for high throughput QT prolongation screening, using cultured cardiac myocytes.

Drug evaluators may also be interested in Ethovision, which provides automatic tracking and analysis of animal behaviour (such as rodents in mazes).
